Hannah Gallery presents Form Across Scales, Ramon Puig Cuyàs' first exhibition at the gallery. Bringing together fifteen works, five brooches, five objects and five sculptures, the exhibition offers an overview of a body of work that has progressively expanded from contemporary jewellery into sculpture.

For decades, Puig Cuyàs has developed one of the most distinctive artistic languages in contemporary jewellery. Alongside this trajectory, he has gradually extended the same artistic investigation into sculpture, understanding it not as a departure from jewellery but as a natural continuation of the questions that have shaped his practice for decades. Regardless of scale, each work forms part of the same ongoing investigation into form, structure and space.

Ramon Puig Cuyàs' practice can be situated within an international tradition of artists who have understood form as a way of constructing and revealing space. Without suggesting direct influences, his work enters into dialogue with David Smith's open structures, Julio González's transformation of line into spatial construction, and Dan Flavin's perceptual understanding of the artwork as an intervention that activates the surrounding space. Developed over more than five decades, Puig Cuyàs' work shares with these artists an understanding of the artwork not as a self-contained object, but as an open structure that reshapes our perception of form, space and scale.

When does a form cease to belong to a discipline?

Hannah Gallery presents Form Across Scales, an exhibition by Ramon Puig Cuyàs bringing together, for the first time, jewellery, objects and sculptures conceived as parts of a single artistic investigation.

Far from understanding jewellery and sculpture as separate disciplines, Puig Cuyàs has, for decades, developed a body of work centred on form, composition and the construction of space. His works are conceived as open structures, in which lines, voids and tensions create a visual rhythm that invites the eye to move slowly across them.

As the artist writes, making becomes a way of thinking. Form is not the result of a preconceived idea, but the place where intuition, matter and experience meet and transform one another.

With this exhibition, Hannah Gallery continues a curatorial line dedicated to questioning the boundaries between disciplines and exploring how artistic research transcends the physical scale of artworks. Following Solid Waves by Trinidad Contreras, Form Across Scales extends this reflection by focusing on the relationship between jewellery and sculpture, not as distinct disciplines, but as expressions of the same formal thinking.
