As part of the Setmana de l'Art event, organized by the Galeries d'Art de Catalunya association, Hannah Gallery presents a one-piece exhibition related to the theme of this year’s event: The Yellow.

A porcelain brooch by Tore Svensson is the starting point of this exhibition. Yellow vibrates with the colour of the sun and the circular gesture that Joan Miró turned into a universal sign: child and cosmos, seed and planet, joy and warning. Here, yellow is not pigment but presence. A circle worn on the body, opening a space where light and shadow, vitality and fragility merge into a single pulse.

A yellow circle shaped by Tore Svensson in porcelain becomes the starting point. His brooch Yellow takes the simplicity of a gesture and elevates it into a symbol: that round, elemental trace that Joan Miró transformed into a universal sign, halfway between the childlike and the cosmic, between ancestral memory and future vision.

Yellow, as a colour, is always ambivalent. It is the sun and gold, warmth and joy, but also alertness and danger. Kandinsky described it as a restless colour, one that never stands still, always expanding outward. In Svensson’s hands, yellow vibrates not just as pigment, but as material and bodily presence, becoming an ornament that inhabits the skin.

The circle, in turn, is a symbol of infinity and return, of the star and of play. In this piece, it becomes tangible, domestic, and intimate, yet it retains its universal resonance: seed and planet, jewel and warning, stillness and explosion.

The exhibition that unfolds from this brooch invites us to think of colour and form as language. Yellow is not just an object: it is an open space for imagination, a light worn on the body, radiating outward like a portable sun.
 

Groc. Un cercle obert.

En el marc de la Setmana de l’Art, organitzada per l’associació Galeries d’Art de Catalunya, Hannah Gallery presenta una exposició d’una sola peça relacionada amb la temàtica d’aquest any: El Groc.

Un cercle groc dibuixat per Tore Svensson en porcellana es converteix en punt de partida. El seu fermall Yellow pren la simplicitat d’un gest i l’eleva a símbol: aquell traç rodó i essencial que Joan Miró va transformar en signe universal, a mig camí entre l’infantil i el còsmic, entre la memòria ancestral i la mirada futura.

El groc, com a color, és sempre ambivalent. És el sol i l’or, la calidesa i l’alegria; però també l’alerta i el perill. Kandinsky el descrivia com un color inquiet, que mai no descansa, que sempre tendeix a expandir-se cap enfora. En les mans de Svensson, el groc vibra no només com a pigment, sinó com a presència material i corporal, capaç de transformar-se en ornament que habita la pell.

El cercle, per la seva banda, és el símbol de l’infinit i del retorn, de l’astre i del joc. En aquesta peça es fa tangible, domèstic i íntim, però alhora conserva la seva ressonància universal: és llavor i planeta, joia i advertiment, calma i esclat.

L’exposició que neix d’aquest fermall és una invitació a pensar el color i la forma com a llenguatge. Yellow no és només un objecte: és un espai obert a la imaginació, una llum que es porta al cos i que irradia cap enfora, com un petit sol portàtil.
