Placing the Jewellery into the World by Beppe Kessler.

Beppe Kessler born in 1952, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, textile department, 1979. Over the past forty years, she has exhibited in galleries and museums across the world, with recent solo exhibitions in venues such as the TextielMuseum (Dutch Textile Museum, 2003, Tilburg), Jewelers Werk Gallery (2010 & 2015, Washington), Museum für Angewandte Kunst (2011, Frankfurt), Atta Gallery (2014, Bangkok), Reverso Gallery (2017, Lisbon), Rob Koudijs Gallery (2017, Amsterdam) and Platina (2018, Stockholm).

Beppe Kessler is an artist who works in painting and sculpture in addition to jewelry. An internationally renowned artist. Her main work topic is the abstraction. And she is a specialist in the research and the use of materials.

Painting and making small things are, to me, very closely interrelated practices: the jewellery emerges from the autonomous work. Painting and making small things are, to me, very closely interrelated practices: the jewellery emerges from the autonomous work. But it also works the other way around: autonomous work is influenced by small things. Although separated in the final form, in thought they belong together, have sprouted from the same soil. My themes usually emerge from the invisible, non-substantial: wind, time, warmth, nothing. What is time, what is nothing? Questions I try to answer in the shape of a painting, a drawing, a brooch.

To me, it is about placing the jewellery into the world and wearing them. Either as part of an exhibition, where you can touch the pieces or visible online - on my own website / via the gallery or via social media. They express my feelings and thoughts about life.
