An imposing granite needle, carved like a weapon, Don’t Dare stands as a symbol of resistance, tension, and fragility, embodying the risk-taking necessary to drive change. This piece, along with the rest of Empar Juanes’ series Tensed, reflects her approach to jewellery: constantly pushing the limits of the material. It is not about the desire to fall off a cliff but about the thrill of balancing on the edge. The artist believes that fully experiencing life requires embracing vulnerability. Through her exploration of personal space, she establishes a strong, direct, and wordless dialogue between the wearer and the observer.

Una imponent agulla de granit, tallada com una arma, Don't Dare s'erigeix ​​com un símbol de resistència, tensió i fragilitat, que encarna la presa de riscos necessària per impulsar el canvi. Aquesta peça, juntament amb la resta de la sèrie Tensed d'Empar Juanes, reflecteix el seu enfocament a la joieria: empènyer constantment els límits del material. No es tracta del desig de caure d'un penya-segat, sinó de l'emoció de fer equilibri a la vora. L'artista creu que experimentar plenament la vida requereix abraçar la vulnerabilitat. A través de la seva exploració de l'espai personal, estableix un diàleg fort, directe i sense paraules entre la persona que la porta i l'observador.
